After being let down by the failures Xamarin Forms we resorted to using Xamarin to write two native applications. Recently we become aware our application must have a pretty large memory leak and so needed to investigate the problem. Xamarin Profiler Xamarin have a profiler tool so it should be easy right? Well after attempting to use it for a day and being unable to get a list of live memory objects or an up to date list of references to an object we contacted support.
Following on from our successful launch of the Preloved iPhone app we have now finished and publish their official Android app to the Google Play store. The Hut Group & Preloved are already seeing the benefits of their new mobile offerings with user retention, engagement and acquisition metrics growing. The Android app is designed with a flatter and more platform specific look at feel and makes buying and selling a breeze.
An app is not just for Christmas! When you release an application out into the wild you can not predict exactly what will happen. This is especially true for Android but is becoming more so for iOS applications. Both Google and Apple do have some support for telling you something unexpected and very bad has happened in your app but these are very simplistic offerings. Despite how much care and attention goes into an application no realistic amount of testing will have tested every possible use of the application.
